Personality

There are only few things that this man takes seriously. It appears as though that faint smile of his is constantly plastered on his face - and it'd probably take one hell of a catastrophe to wipe it off. Theobald's just a wee bit too fond of his sarcasm and verbal battery; in fact he just loves to antagonise practically everyone and relishes in pointing out their flaws and insecurities. It's as though he has a smartass remark for each and every situation. If one actually listens to the things he says for a while, it becomes evident that Theobald has more than just a healthy share of cynism - no, he practically radiates it. Good luck with finding out the reason, though.

On top of that, he isn't the type to go on a screaming rampage when angered - instead, Theobald's rare fits of anger just seem all too quiet and controlled in an eerie way. Either way it's advisable to keep one's safety distance - just in case.

In fact, the only people he is actually nice to would be those that have earned his respect...which is not what one would call an easy task. Well, and one could say that he does act much more civil towards people that actually catch his interest - in a good way. Though, one could say that practically no one is entirely safe from Theobald's sarcasm.


Biography

Little is actually known about him - well, at least the parts of his past that would interest those fond of gossip. Theobald has already been born with a frail health and is still prone to become sick ridiculously fast. His family had always been full of blacksmiths and knights, so his path was already decided on at a very early age. Now, his health was quite a troublesome factor, but on the flipside Theobald had always been a stubborn one and climbed the ranks over the years.

In fact, he would eventually be regarded as a model knight and prime example of Ladon's virtues. Only when he lost his arm - one of the events he keeps to himself - Theobald changed drastically into who he is today.

By now, one could rather call him the opposite of the chivalrous knight ideal, which is regarded so highly in ladonian society. Now, he's managed to keep his rank, but this doesn't exactly go hand-in-hand with being a popular guy. Though the scorn...well, it serves to amuse him more than anything.


Trivia

- His right arm is actually prosthetic. As usually, Theobald won't say just how he lost it - at most he'll quip about how fortunate he is for being left-handed.

- Being of extremely frail health since childhood, Theobald always needs to carry some medications on him, just in case. Seeing how Ladon is lacking in this department, he usually imports what he needs from Epicent City.

- While being an extremely skilled fencer, his poor health gets in the way from time to time.

- In fact, he appears to always be suffering from some illness, if his unhealthy pallor is any indication.

- The only thing he ever is serious about is armour. Yes, armour. Seeing how there have always been quite a number of blacksmiths in Theobald's family, he just grew up with it. Hence why he might comment on the equipment of others or make snide remarks upon seeing impractical armour. It's quite the "serious business" to him.

Cherub has been with Theobald ever since he was a boy of ten, hence why they've grown into quite the functioning team over time. While she is fond - and fiercely overprotective - of her trainer, Cherub happens to be immensely distrustful when it comes to strangers and tends to get aggressive , should she see them as a threat.

*Laelaps (Dragonair;M)

Despite his intimidating appearance and size, Laelaps is actually quite the docile one. Well, at the very least he listens to Theobald's orders and isn't known to lash out for no reason. Theobald normally uses him as a means of moving across the water. Laelaps never has been all too skilled at flight like the rest of his kind, but he makes up for it by being an excellent and swift swimmer.

Compared to Cherub and Laelaps, he's the quiet one of the bunch. Well, in fact Grigori never appears to be anything else than serious and somewhat disgruntled. He however does enjoy a good fight, even if he's got to be the most stone-faced Garchomp the world has ever seen.
